Acceptance follows Awareness

Spirit shares words of wisdom with me, and with
whomever else cares to join our one-to-one sessions.

Spirit tells me that acceptance follows awareness
or it does not.

But, this is not our I Ching lesson.

This is a truth that goes beyond I Ching.

How can truth go beyond a way to truth?

It must, of necessity.

As in the goal being beyond the journey?

Yes.

But, if a goal is beyond a journey, or path,
to that goal, then how can it ever be reached.

It cannot.

Then why do some of us struggle to find and
then to follow our way to wherever if
wherever does not exist?

It does exist, and it calls us to itself.

But, why struggle to go there if we can
never reach it?

We do reach it.

How?

As we travel towards truth, truth is
also moving towards us.

Is there a half-way meeting place?

No.

Then what?

As we absorb truth, truth is also absorbing
us. We become one.

But not equal parts of one?

Yes, never equal, for we are becoming;
we are even now, one within an all-
inclusive one.

Wow! But, back to awareness and acceptance.

We can never go back.

Your story is my story

Spirit tells me that our personal stories must necessarily be incomplete and less than real.

“How can my life story be less than real?”

“Who experienced it?”

“I did.”

“And who recorded it?”

“I did.”

“How?”

“Through memories. How else?”

“Someone might have told you your story when you were too young to be aware of how true it was.”

“If so, that was then.”

“Your story can never be then. Life stories are never then and now, unless there are two or more versions of the same story, and there always are.”

“Then how can we know our own story?”

“It isn’t possible. We’re living interconnected life stories.”

“Then your story and mine may be the same story?”

“Yes, from different perspectives.”

Now what?

Today’s I Ching is 39 – Halting.

Water over Mountain.

Halting follows Disharmony.

Spirit explains: Disharmony expresses lack of general consensus,

Disagreement, perhaps even different world views, different

Goals or needs.

Whatever; a way forward has been halted, brought to a stand-still.

A mental road block can halt co-operation and progress as

Effectively as one made of stone.

Now what?

Yes.

Now what?

Stand=still. A mental road block can halt co-operation and

Progress as effectively as one made of stone.

Yes.

Struggle may not help a rock

Spirit tells me that struggle can never help us to become

Anything that we have no potential to become.

But, a rock may never know that it has no potential to

Become a tree until it tries again and again,

Without success.

However, the rock may discover that it does have potential

To become what it now is, a rock.

People are not rocks.

What are they?

They, we are living forms of intelligent energy.

And rocks are not?

Perhaps they are, but people have potential.

Yes.

What does that mean?

More struggle might help you.

Trust your Intuition

Spirit tells me that intuition and a sense of discomfort are as

Detour signs.

Listen to your body, He tells me, and trust that

A feeling of discomfort is as Intuition; a wake-up call,

A warning that something or someone is not as

Might seem to be.

Why are you telling me this, now?

Is there a better time?

I don’t know.

I do.

As I am is not the way I am, or is it?

Spirit tells me that for me to love myself as I am

Does not require that I love myself the way I am.

I can accept myself as imperfect without necessarily

Accepting my imperfections.

And, He suggests that I really must work on these.

Where would I begin?

From the beginning.

When was that?

It never was.

So, what then?

You can only begin now.

He’s wrong of course. I’ve been trying for as long as

I can remember.

Embedded within a pattern of Existence

Spirit tells me that we are, each and every one of us,

Embedded within a pattern of existence that is also

Embedded within even more expanded patterns.

I protest that such a reality may exist and probably does,

For I can visualize such a concept, and then my mind

Blurs the image, or does the image blur my mind?

It’s too deep for me, and my Spirit Teacher seems to

Sigh at my simplicity.

I want to live in the here and now, even knowing that

They do not exist except in the here and now and,

Even then, with little or no stability.

What about your desire to expand your awareness and

Understanding?

What about them?

Can they expand in your so-called here and now?

Perhaps I have a problem there, or here, but how

To bridge the gap between the two perspectives?

There is no gap and no need for a bridge.

Then what?

Simply release your hold, your identification with

Your so-called but non-existent here and now.

The fog will slowly lift and the way will become clear.

Opting out is not an option

Spirit tells me to be aware of what is happening around me

As I move through time and space, and as they move

Through me, and to be aware of how I contribute to

Whatever is happening, and I do contribute, He tells me,

To every situation that I am aware of, as well as to

All others.

We are each related to all that is, which also includes

Ourselves. We move or are moved through situations

That provide us with opportunities to respond from

Our unique perspective – a moving perspective.

We are each, at least to some degree, responsible,

Claims Spirit, for the creation, result, and future of

Any situation we are part of, and we are part of

Everything.

This is too much for me. I protest. What if I don’t

Want to play this game?

Opting out is not an option, He tells me. That’s not

In the rules.

Who wrote the rules?

We did.

Who are “we”?

You and I and everyone else.

When?

In the beginning.

The beginning of what?

The game of Life.

When was that?

There was no beginning.

When someone is not playing fair

Spirit tells me that a good mantra

To guide relationships is,”If

Someone is not playing fair,

May it not be me”. Of course,

This noble thought does not

Change the situation, and

If we find a need to recite it,

It has become an accusation,

An awareness that someone,

Not me, is not playing fair. But,

Perhaps I knew that, and it does not.

Solve the problem of relating to

Someone who does not play fair.

So, now what?
