There is only one story

Spirit tells me that memories are remembered stories that we personally experienced, on one way or another. We may not have physically experienced them but, somehow, they each have left a deep and lasting effect upon us.

We may have read some of them, listened to, watched, or dreamed some others. Some have made such deep sense to us or we have felt such a personal connection to them that we have recorded them in our memory, or, more factually, they have recorded themselves.

No one story stands alone. Each are a part of and embedded within even larger or different stories. If so, they are remembered as part of more stories than one. This is as an important, or less important document being copied and then stored in different file folders in a traditional filing cabinet, or on a computer

Then how can we know which stories are really our own?

Easy.

How?
They all are part of one and the same story, of life being lived.

Visualize Limits as Horizons

Spirit asks me to visualize my limits as horizons, not as boundaries, as I seem to do. As we move closer to the horizon, it adopts our pace and moves forward, too, as if in a game to maintain the distance of separation from us.

You may reach boundaries, He tells me, but horizons? Never.

The horizons of your understanding are waiting to lure you far beyond your so-called, and perhaps, self-imposed  limitations.

Double Pitfall is not facing problems

Spirit’s daily advice, using the ancient I Ching style of thought to explain life, in which all situations are seen to develop out of and into other situations, in a more or less foreseeable pattern. Spirit seems to dismiss the trendy thought of living in the now. The now, He tells me, developed out of the past and will strongly impact on the future.

Today’s focus is on the concept of I Ching 29 – Double Pitfall. Problems cannot be faced, dealt with, or overcome until they are recognized, identified, and studied.

Double Pitfall suggests danger; possibly preventable danger, as a result of self-defeating thinking, avoidance, or lack of wisdom or courage to face and challenge difficulties before they develop into situations beyond our control.

How can this reading possibly relate to me?

It possibly relates to every one of us.

Degree of Harmony

Spirit tells me that action expresses thought more honestly than words alone usually do, when it isn’t designed to pretend to express thought.

How could action pretend to express thought?

Seemingly spontaneous actions can be skills that have been practiced until they have become almost instinctive responses to situations they have been designed to respond to.

Can sincerity become a skill?

No.

Then how can it be recognized?

By the degree of consistent harmony.

Between?

Actions expressed and the unspoken thoughts.

Unity in Diversity

Spirit tells me tht we each develop awareness in our own time and in our own way.

There is no reward for those who finish first, for nobody ever finishes, at least not as individuals.

Sooner or later we choose,  not at an intellectual level of thought, but as a consequence of expanded awareness, to merge our own, unique perspective with a larger and more inclusive mind.

There is no limit to what we can learn, both individually and collectively.

But, what if some of us seem to need to learn something that others may not consider important, to them?

We each learn to satisfy our unique need to learn whatever, according to personal interest.

 Unity in diversity?

 Yes.

I need to learn not to know

Spirit tells me that I need to learn not to know, in the sense that I can

Accept and understand that there is no absolute knowledge beyond

Which there is nothing more to learn about whatever.

Science serves us well in reaching beyond the limits of our present

Understanding and providing us with ever-more insights into

Whatever.

But, even scientists know there is more that can be and will be learned

About whatever.

That’s fine for scientists, but I seem to need to believe in something.

Do you believe in me?

Yes.

That’s something.

Ultimate Reality – Spirit’s I Ching 1 – The Creative

Spirit explains I Ching – 1 – The Creative.

Heaven over Heaven, the ultimate reality, or, as it has been described,

As above, so below.

Nothing creates itself alone. Nothing sustains itself, alone. And, nothing

Destroys itself, alone.

What about Life?

What about it?

Who or what creates, sustains, or destroys …

Life is self-creating.

But, you said ..

Life is not a who or what.

Then what?

Ultimate reality.

Mind is not really within us

Spirit tells me that the so-called inner world of spirituality and

Mind is not really within us, at least not exclusively. On the contrary,

We, as individuals, are within one mind.

Drops of water within an ocean might be unaware that they are

No more than concentrated segments of it, as lumps in a sauce

That has not been well stirred.

Our individual minds are not entirely contained within our human form.

Form does not contain mind. Finer and denser aspects of mind

Interact with each other within  without, and through whatever forms

May temporarily exist.

My thoughts are your thoughts, or will be, perhaps, if and when

Your mind is able and willing to receive them.

Why are you telling me this?

You seemed to need to hear it.

I Ching Wisdom – Respect the visions of the timeless past

Spirit explains I Ching 52 – Mountain.

Mountain follows Thunder and will be followed by Gradual Progress.

As the seasons of our life each follow the one that came before it,

So it is with each new generation of Seekers of the Way. We cannot

Be, see, or do as any other previous one.

We each see and understand as no-one else, if we dare to see from

Where we alone are, while respecting the visions of the elders,

Mentors, and teachers from the timeless past.

Wow! And the message for me?

Yes.

A target of choice is nothing personal

Spirit tells me that I seem to set myself up to become, or at least

Make it easy to be used as a target of choice. But, why? He asks.

I don’t know. What is it about me that seems to invite verbal abuse?

It has nothing much to do with you at all. It is an outward expression

Of inner distress that not even your so-called attacker is aware of.

You just happen to be an easy target and, if not you, then it would be

someone else.

But, why me?

Would you wish it to be someone else?

Sometimes.

Yes.
