The Tree of Life grows

Sometimes I think that I’m getting it all together, and then …

jeanw5's avatarGrass-Roots Spiritual Philosophy 101

Our simple seeker was feeling pleased with herself,
maybe even a bit smug about the expansion of her
understanding, with Spirit’s help, of course.

A new development was taking shape, even if still
in a fuzzy condition, in her study of the Kabbalah
and the relationship between The Tree of Life and
The Ladder of Light.

Georgia had struggled with how to visualize the ten
unique energy systems of The Tree evolving,
transforming, or transcending into The Four Worlds
and thirty two stages of The Ladder of Light. But,
the conceptualization was coming together, if only
she could hold onto it.

Wow! she thought, as she envisioned her years of
seemingly endless wavering of attention between Tarot,
I Ching, and Kabbalah; not to mention several other
wisdom and/or mystery traditions. But, now it was all
coming together.

The four suits of the Tarot represent four elements
of nature; earth, air…

Assisting Others is Self-Serving

We can’t all be leaders but we can assist those more suited to lead.

jeanw5's avatarI Ching as a Way to Enlightenment

Spirit shares I Ching wisdom with me and with
whomever else cares to join our otherwise
one-to-one sessions.

Hexagram 26 – Great Accumulation.
Mountain is above Heaven.
Each are yang and yet, in this instance,
the youngest yang is above the parent yang.

Is that very likely?

Spirit explains: Nothing rises up
without having been assisted, or gently
lifted into that higher position.

Why would anyone help someone else rise higher
than herself, or himself?

Parents have done that since time began,
bearing in mind that there was no beginning
to time, if it actually exists,
which it doesn’t.

That’s true – the parental impulse to …

That so-called impulse to assist others to go
beyond where we can go ourselves is part of
our nature – who and what we are.

Then there must be a personal benefit
to our action; our seemingly self-sacrificing
behaviour.

There’s nothing self-sacrificing about…

A Simple Seeker Tries to Teach Spirit

Grass-Roots Spiritual Philosophy 101 – Life has purpose and always did.

jeanw5's avatarGrass-Roots Spiritual Philosophy 101

A simple seeker decided it was time to teach
her spirit guru about life in the world of
physical reality.

There is no physical reality.

It looks pretty real to me.

It’s an illusion.

As in a dream;?

Yes and no.

Surely it is or it isn’t.

What?

A dream.

It is and it isn’t.

How can that be.

It is as a dream in that you are not
directing it. But, the illusion of
so-called reality allows you to pretend
that you are directing it all.

But, I do make choices.

Yes, from available options that you are
aware of.

How could I possibly choose from options
that I wasn’t aware of?

It’s too late.

For what?

It’s too late for you to choose from options
that you might have, if you had been aware
of them when and while they were options.

Then, how can there be any…

Your story is my story

We’re each and all living interconnected life stories.

jeanw5's avatarSimple Seeker Society

Spirit tells me that our personal stories must necessarily be incomplete and less than real.

How can my life story be less than real?

Who experienced it?

I did.

And who recorded it?

I did.

How?

Through memories. How else?

Someone might have told you your story when you were too young to be aware of how true it was.

If so, that was then.

Your story can never be then. Life stories are never then and now, unless there are two or more versions of the same story, and there always are.

Then how can we know our own story?

It is not possible. We are living interconnected life stories.

Then your story and mine may be the same story?

Yes, from different perspectives.

Discover where you belong

Life is about relationships.

jeanw5's avatarSimple Seeker Society

Spirit tells me that there are some people in my life
whom I would best serve by stepping away from.

Life, He tells me is about relationships: to oneself,
to loved ones, to community, to neighbours, to
fellow workers, to our environment, and to Life itself.

We are each as living pieces of a cosmic puzzle and
we each need to discover where and near whom we fit
most comfortably and appropriately.

Stepping away from a close association with those
with whom you do not share values with allows them
to also possibly discover where they belong.

At this time, neither of you are where you belong.
You both are holding each other back from
meaningful spiritual development.

Harmony is Balance Wthout Equality

Each energy serves it own role in contributing to deeper awareness and acceptance of Life’s purpose. With is? Read the post.

jeanw5's avatarGrass-Roots Spiritual Philosophy 101

Spirit was moving too fast (again) in His explanation
of the meaning behind the symbolic language of the
Kabbalah Tree of Life and the Ladder of Light, which
contains several trees within or on the Ladder.
The books generally refer to four trees but Spirit
claims there are many more than four times four.

Understanding symbolism was not one of our simple
seeker’s strongest attributes. She was totally over
her head, and yet she could not let go of the need
to understand. She seemed to sense a deeper than
life, if that is possible, meaning behind the images
that floated through her mind as her spirit teacher
described the interrelationships of the very human
and simple surface qualities and potentialities that
we each contain, or are.

Our awareness expands and rises up the Pillar of
Consciousness much as mercury rises in a thermometer
as temperatures rise. It is a Law…

A shopping cart of thoughts and emotions

Do we choose our thoughts and emotions?

jeanw5's avatarSimple Seeker Society

Spirit shares words of wisdom.

Spirit tells me that all thoughts and all emotions
have value; some more and some less.

Who determines their value?

We each do.

How can we be said to choose thoughts and emotions
when they sometimes seem to flood, unwelcome
into our minds.

We choose to let them into our minds.

How?

Through habit-forming mental laziness, as in
habitually choosing the same food items at
a market.

Food for thought?

Yes. We ignore those items we do not generally
include in our diet or on our menu.

At the market, it’s easier and quicker to shop
if I know what I’m looking for.

Yes, and you do not pay much attention, if any,
to the many possible alternatives available.

But, I do buy what I believe is nutritious and
that I enjoy eating.

There may be many other available food items
equally nutritious that, perhaps…

Whatever works

Perhaps, even in struggling along the path to enlightenment, we have to keep asking ourselves whether we have chosen a career path or a way of life? What works, and why, for me?

jeanw5's avatarSimple Seeker Society

Spirit shares timeless wisdom.

But, there are times when He seems to be
just too much.

Too much what?

Too much authority.

Too much for whom?

For me.

Such as when or how?

You seem to tell me that I must learn to walk
my talk, and yet I find myself walking your talk.

Is there a difference?

Yes, or at least in degrees of adherence to
simplicity. You don’t seem to understand
that physical life is different than life in
Spirit, alone.

In what way?

There is so much to enjoy in my world.

And, in mine?

God only knows what exists in Your world.

I know.

We’ve wandered from the topic.

One of us has.

Then, to get back on track, why do I find
myself trying to walk your talk when my
very instincts assure me that pleasure is
designed for earthly enjoyment.

It is.

Then, why…

When we are not yet ready

We have to block out of our mind what we are not yet ready to deal with.

jeanw5's avatarGrass-Roots Spiritual Philosophy 101

Georgia clasped her head between her hands to clear it from
the overwhelming visions that Spirit seemed to be flooding
her mind with. She needed a cup of warm water, just to hold onto.

The concept of herself and everyone else as being a Kabbalah-like
Tree of Life moving up a limitless Ladder of Light, with ever-
merging trees representing and reflecting the Universal Triad of
Power, Wisdom, and Understand, and these three energy centres
merging together as Love and Compassion reaching down to everyone
reaching up, and everyone was/is reaching up to receive, whether
or not they were/are consciously aware of this pressure gradient type
of two-way energy flow.

Wow! It’s just too much for me to deal with.

Then, don’t.

What does that mean?

We see what we have to see.

No. We have to block out what we are not yet ready to deal with.

Yes, even…

Heroes come and go

Addiction to hero-worship is a stumbling block on the path to truth.

jeanw5's avatarSimple Seeker Society

Spirit shares perennial wisdom with me,
and with anyone else who cares to listen
to our more-or-less private dialogue.

But, it is a dialogue with a difference.
How so? Spirit seems to know and, at time,
so I suspect, directs my thoughts, and
even my emotions.

But, He must pull them from a pool of
previously existing collection (in my mind,
or in my small share of cosmic mind), I do
recognize them as my own, more or less.

In this respect (as well as in depth of
awareness and intelligence) He has
a great advantage over me.

I can often suspect how He would likely respond
to whatever I might say, do, think, or feel, but
He often catches me by surprise with thoughts
far beyond what I might have suspected.

Why? Perhaps I have still to develop appropriate
respect for the depth of …

Why did you not…
