Beauty and Pleasure express Spiritual Values

Spirit tells me to release my hold on the heavy but

Seductive energies of material values. For me, that

Position is neither desirable nor possible.

 

I tell Spirit that material comforts surely express

Spiritual values of beauty and pleasure, and that

Perhaps we each must find our own comfort zone

Where our own, individual spiritual and material

Values co-exist in harmony with each other,

Each expressing the other.

 

Yes, He agrees, as if He expected my response and

Intended to provoke it.

 

Perhaps, He suggests, I will learn to relax my hold

Without releasing it. Over-simplicity, for the sake of

Simplicity, He tells me, is a trap of false pride.

 

The middle way is a personal way and, as such is

A different path for every individual.

 

 

 

Life is incomplete and non-linear

Spirit tells me that all stories are necessarily incomplete and

Non-linear, when they attempt to accurately describe life

 

But, I was young, once, and now I am not. Surely that is

A case for linear development.

 

Did you grow in equal proportions during each segment of

Your so-called linear life?

 

No. Babies grow faster, doubling their birth weight in a few months.

 

So much for linear growth.

 

Perhaps linear growth could refer to stages of

Development.

 

Are stages of growth, or development

Of equal time duration for all people and

Other life forms?

 

Why would stages of growth have to be of

Equal time duration to be linear?

They could have a certain sequential order

Within a linear framework.

 

Explain, if you can.

Linear development.

 

How can I explain it to you?

 

Then, explain it to yourself and I’ll listen in.

But, if we do not develop within a linear

Framework, then how do we?

Develop.

 

In what way?

 

Are we going in circles?

 

No.

 

Then what?

 

Cycles.

 

Transcending the Physical

Spirit tells me that

Transcending the physical does not

Require rejecting or neglecting

The physical aspects of our life.

 

Transcendence must necessarily

Include and expand from

The inside and then move

Beyond the boundaries of

Our physical and mental reality.

 

We are physical beings. We are also

Emotional, intellectual and

.Spiritual beings, all in one and,

All in one from a oneness

Perspective.

 

To neglect or abuse any one aspect

Of our being, is to neglect or abuse

Our being.

 

If we are to be neglected

And/or abused then let it be

By others, not by ourselves.

 

 

 

Practice or Habit

Spirit tells me that

Practice can result in

The development of

Physical, intellectual, emotional and, or

Spiritual patterns of behaviour, but that

Habits can also result in

The development of physical,

Intellectual, emotional, and, or

Spiritual patterns of behaviour.

 

The difference between

Practice and habit is that

Practice requires intent to

Continuously develop

 Desired patterns of

Thinking, feeling, behaving and being.

While habits can develop

Through the lack of intent and

Conscious self-control.

Religion and Spirituality

Spirit tells me that

Different religions and spiritual belief systems

Necessarily exist because of

Different knowledge needs among

Different groups of people.

 

No teacher replaces another

Spirit assures me,

Until the seeker, or believer,

Is attracted to another way of

Understanding Life than

What she or he is now learning from

A Present teacher or from

Personal experience alone.

 

We each possess and

We each are, a unique

perspective, attracted to

A similar or expanded

Version of our own way of

Learning, or our own way of

Knowing, and our own way of

Relating to our shared reality.
