The Horizon of My Mind

Spirit suggests that I visualize Him as

The horizon of my own mind, and to

Attempt to come closer to Him.

 

This concept seems to fit our relationship

Very well, for, as I draw closer to Him,

To His thinking, sustained, to some degree by

The gems of wisdom He provides

My sponge-like appetite,

I never seem to be able

To reach the understanding,

Awareness, and depth of knowing

That He possesses.

 

Even knowing, or believing that I know

Much more than I ever did, before

He came into my life,

He seems to be able to encourage

My development without fully

Satisfying it. Why?

 

That would end the game, He tells me.

What game are we playing?

Life.

Life?

Yes.

 

Choosing gives meaning to our life

Spirit tells me that

It is by choosing how we live,

And why, that gives

Meaning to our life

Our lifestyle consists of

Chosen patterns of activity

And these patterns of behaviour

Can become fixed and rigid, or

They can dissolve into nothingness,

Unless we are aware of how

They serve us and when.

 

Awareness, alone, is not enough,

He tells me. We must

Continuously choose to adapt

Our thinking, our emotional

responses, and, our attitude

To life, if we choose

To develop a more meaningful

Lifestyle, wherein

Our daily patterns of activity

Are in harmony with our goal,

To transform the way we live

Our life.

Searching for a Spiritual Guru

You will find your Guru within yourself. Why can I not remember who told me that, a thousand years or more. I remember not being overly impressed with this seemingly casual remark. The speaker could not possibly have experienced the countless times when I thought I had found the ideal, for me, teacher of perennial wisdom, who would lead me, eagerly following, along the path, or way, of enlightenment – that magic word, which was to me as a promised fairyland might be to young children.

Sure, I thought, but was too conditioned not to be polite.

Perhaps meditation was the way to go. I’m told it works for tens of thousands of seekers, but this one falls asleep the minute she relaxes, or so it seemed during the TM sessions I attended, away back then. I wonder if they are still doing it?

Doing what? Spirit interrupts my reverie.

Meditating.

Everyone meditates, consciously aware of the fact, or not.

How could they not be aware of meditating.

If you were, no, when you are meditating, and you spend hours each day doing just that, how aware are you of doing so?

I’m not.

Great, then you’re doing it right.

I Ching 25 – No Error

Today’s I Ching – 25 – No Error

     Heaven above, Thunder below. No Error follows Return in the order of the Hexagrams.

Spirit explains:  Every step we take leads us away from somewhere and toward somewhere else.

We each move Live with awareness; some with more and some with less, our choice.

Return refers to choosing to be aware of having wandered from our personal path and choosing to return to it.

No error expresses the concept of “no blame” which is inherent in the I Ching. Perhaps wandering from The Way of Enlightenment, or Tao, was necessary for us to become aware of where we really want to go, or do.

What does this say to me? I ask.

Figure it out, He tells me.

Spirit Claims to be Aware of My Suspicions

Spirit tells me that He is aware of my suspicions about Him.

At times I do suspect that He is more aware  than I am of my own awareness.

But, I am learning to live with that possibility, more or less.

What are my suspicions? Or, are they doubts?

No, I have no doubt, well, perhaps a little, as to the degree of control He seems to have over me.

But, is He a Spirit Guide, as He claims to be? Or, is He a Muse, sent (by whom?), or choosing on His own to come to inspire. But, to come from where?

The Pantheist in me tells me not to accept any “where” that might suggest a world other than the one I now live in, and there is no other world, or is there?

Spirit tells me that we live in a multidimensional world, wherein, both seen and unseen intelligent, to greater or lesser degrees, beings not only live but interact with us, whether we are aware of this reality or not.

I can imagine that possibility, now that I have learned to accept Spirit’s presence and influence in my personal life We seem to share and co-create our relationship with each other.

Spirit tells me that all creativity expressed on the material or physical level of existence, or Life. is simply the manifestation of an inner relationship with so-called other worlds, of other ways of being.
