Unlimited Degrees of Love

A Spirit Teacher shares His understanding of timeless wisdom.

He tells me that we each express love by caring for and respecting
those whom, or that which, we claim to love.

But, there may be unlimited degrees of quantity and quality of care
and respect.

Yes, and there are unlimited degrees of love.

And quality?

Our capacity to love expresses the quality of our soul’s development.

Can we control love?

No. What we don’t express, we don’t have to express. Love is limited
only by the personal restrictions we put on ourselves. We each possess
the potential to love unconditionally.

Then, why don’t we?

We fear losing control.

Unconditional Love is Intelligent Love

Spirit tells me that unconditional love
is intelligent love.

But, isn’t love an emotion?

Yes.

And, doesn’t intelligence require
intellect?

Yes.

Then, is unconditional love a blend
of intellect and emotion?

No.

Please explain.

What?

How unconditional love …

Expresses intelligence?

Yes.

Do we love whom we do only when
their behaviour pleases us?

No.

Why?

We choose to overlook imperfections.

Yes.

What does that mean?

You answered your own question.

How?

Choice requires decision-making,
and that requires intellect.

So, unconditional love does not
negate or excuse unlovable
behaviour, but chooses to love
regardless.

Yes.

We Each Have a Reason For Being Whom We Are

Spirit tells me that the purpose of unconditional
love is …

Does unconditional love have a purpose?

Everything has a purpose.

And everyone?

And every one what?

Does everyone have a purpose?

As in a reason?

Yes, I guess.

Yes, you guess what?

I guess I mean to ask if everyone
has a reason, but …

But what?

I suspect you will then ask me
to complete my sentence.

Yes.

Do we each have a reason for being
whom we are?

Yes.

What reason do I have for being
whom I am?

What reason would you have for being
anyone else?

I lose?

Yes.

Unconditional love expresses care

A Spirit Teacher explains I Ching 9 – Small Development.

Small Development follows Closeness in the order of life experiences

Represented by the sixty-four hexagrams. The exact number of

Personal life experiences necessarily varies from individual to

Individual, but the reality that each experience develops out of

A previous one, does not.

Closeness expresses a sense of community with people, places, or

Things; a feeling of attachment, connectedness, and relationship.

Closeness, as an awareness of oneness with others, reminds us that

We are not alone. Both seen and unseen energies share our progress

And care for us with unconditional love.

There are times …

Yes, there will always be times of doubt, but they pass, if we let them.

Unconditional Surrender is a no-win Situation

Spirit tells me that unconditional surrender is a no-win situations.

Winners become losers if their influence over other powers

Depends solely upon force.

Such a situation requires continued use of force to maintain

Control over whomever or whatever.

Whatever?

Yes.

Such as?

Addictions and other self-destructive lifestyles.

But, will power …

Will power alone can sometimes control but never

Release the need for whatever.

Then what is a solution?

A solution for what?

The tension, the stress in maintaining control.

Awareness, acceptance, understanding, compassion

For self, and respect for the so-called enemy.

And intention?

Yes.
