Might isn’t necessarily right

My spirit teacher asks me what is the difference between us.

 

I am physical and you are not.

 

What does it mean to be physical?

 

It means I am trapped in a physical body.

 

Is that all?

 

No. You seem to know and understand much more than I do, but

That might be due to the heavy energy of my physical existence

Limiting my awareness.

 

Awareness of what?

 

Awareness of all the information that would help me understand

What life is, what my destiny is, what my role, if any, is, and what

I have done to be stuck in the mud of human society.

 

Can you accept me as a teacher and guide?

 

Yes. I do.

 

Then why do you seem to struggle with accepting my teachings?

 

I respect you and your teachings, but if your opinions don’t seem

To make sense to me then I suspect that you are testing my

Intelligence.

 

So, you accept my teaching as superior, only when it seems so to you?

 

How else?

 

Yes.

 

 

 

 

 

Acorns and Seekers each have a Destiny

Spirit tells me that the destiny of an acorn is to become

An oak tree and the destiny of an infant is to become an

Adult. Each will unconsciously strive to manifest its

Predetermined destiny. Life has given each a goal.

 

Life has also provided humans with the capacity to

Consciously choose to commit themselves to a goal,

Or to believe that they have chosen what is also a

Destiny, for them, if for no other.

 

Seekers desire to learn more and more about whatever

It is that interests them, whether it be in the field of

Sports, music, theatre, business, cooking, academic

Studies, mechanics, farming, whatever.

 

Spiritual seekers are no better and no worse than those

Who seek to climb mountains. They are each following

Their own chosen destiny, if it can be considered as

Being chosen when we feel an inner drive to achieve

Something that means much to us and possibly little

To some others.

 

Be true to oneself?

 

Yes.

 

Perennial Wisdom began as a grass roots movement

Spirit tells me that

All perennial wisdom began

As a one-to-one

Grass roots movement.

 

Our way is a new way,

A new way to the old way,

Spirit tells me, and

As the old ways began,

It too, is, for now,

A one-to-one grass roots

Way. Help Me. Help Us

To spread our message

Up and out to the world.

 

The whole idea scares me.

I surely was not designed

To be part of such a mission.

 

Give me a chance, Spirit asks,

To prove I can do it, My way.

A top-down message

He tells me, encourages

Corruption, dependency, and

Materialistic leaders.

 

 

Perhaps it is my destiny to be

A simple follower, but

I must believe in

My Spirit Teacher,

Even if somewhat

Reluctantly.

 

Closing doors

Who closes the doors that close

On our life and that leave the

Past behind, but in a way that

Doesn’t really let us cope with

Why the doors had to close?

It wasn’t my idea, or was it?

I was totally unaware, or was I,

Of the Price I would be paying,

Perhaps until the end of time,

To follow Spirit. How could I,

How can I explain that

I really had no choice, that

It seemed to be my destiny, and

Though not knowing what the price

Would be, I must have always

Known that, whatever it was,

I would pay. Perhaps not gladly,

But, I would pay.

 

Spirit tells me, gently,

Aware of my pain, that

The doors that seem to be

Closing, were never open,

For me, and that I somehow

Needed to believe that

They were, while knowing

In my soul, that I was just

Pretending, because

I needed to believe,

For whatever reason.

 

 

Free will and destiny

Spirit tells me that free will and destiny work together

To create a lifestyle. We each can, and must, choose

From available options, but only from those

Available options that we are aware of

At the time of our choosing.

Of course, a possibly different selection

Of options, may be available

To each one of us.

 

Spirit also cautions me that

The selection of options available

To each of us, now,

May be less or more

Than were available to us

At some earlier time, in our past, and,

The choices we make with

Our free will may expand, or reduce

The collection of options available to us

To choose from, in the future.

 

One choice alone is not available,

Claims Spirit, The option

Not to choose.

 

How the Spirit Mentor System Works

Spirit describes to to me how the mentor system works:

Teacher and student are

Attracted to each other

For different reasons.

 

The field of energy

Between them is

real and dynamic

 

A pressure gradient of

Information and understanding

Flows both ways.

Respect and gratitude

From the Student

Determine, at least

To some extent

How beneficial

The relationship is, and

Are necessary components of

That relationship, that

Energy field.

 

Also, an inner compulsion

Or destiny

Is at Work, and

A goal beyond what

Either teacher or student

Is aware of.
