Anger as Persuasive Argument

Spirit tells me that the power of anger is unstable, unhealthy, and

Potentially dangerous. It is by its very nature designed to express

Warning and to instill fear.

Anger can frighten and discourage one from expressing opinions that

Might counter those of the person who uses anger to demand

Compliance with a particular viewpoint, even when a simple but

Logical statement might be more successful.

Why are you telling me this?

You seem to need to hear it.

But, when your answers seem beyond my understanding, it can be

Very stressful.

Does anger relieve the stress?

Sometimes.

Yes.

Pity is Arrogance

Spirit tells me that to tolerate ignorance and other base qualities

In oneself, or in others, is disrespectful of those others and oneself.

It is also counter-productive and slows progress, and so, is also

Disrespectful of our future.

Then how to respond?

Compassion is the answer and is the only way to achieve

Peace of mind. Pity is arrogance pretending to be

Justifiably superior.

If I pity the wretched conditions of others, then I am not

One of them, and, He claims, to be with them and not of them

Is impossible.

The Price of Bonding

Spirit tells me that, to the extent that we each influence another,

To that extent we are consuming or being consumed into

The essence of the other. Some call this process bonding.

This is, He tells me, a Universal Law, wherein all separated

Aspects of life return to again become one.

That may be so, in the long term, but how does knowing that

Affect my life here and now?

Have I influenced your thinking?

Very much so.

Then, are we bonding?

Yes, I hope so, but I would resist being consumed.

Yes.

Acorns and Seekers each have a Destiny

Spirit tells me that the destiny of an acorn is to become

An oak tree and the destiny of an infant is to become an

Adult. Each will unconsciously strive to manifest its

Predetermined destiny. Life has given each a goal.

Life has also provided humans with the capacity to

Consciously choose to commit themselves to a goal,

Or to believe that they have chosen what is also a

Destiny, for them, if for no other.

Seekers desire to learn more and more about whatever

It is that interests them, whether it be in the field of

Sports, music, theatre, business, cooking, academic

Studies, mechanics, farming, whatever.

Spiritual seekers are no better and no worse than those

Who seek to climb mountains. They are each following

Their own chosen destiny, if it can be considered as

Being chosen when we feel an inner drive to achieve

Something that means much to us and possibly little

To some others.

Be true to oneself?

Yes.

Life is both Serious and Mysterious

Spirit tells me that there are times when I seem to forget that

Life is both serious and mysterious. Life, He claims, is as a

Stage play, with each of us involved in many relationships at

The same time, while professional actors are usually only

Required to be part of a very limited number of situations

At the same time, and there is no lifetime development of

Characters on the stage.

But, He cautions, never become disinterested in or disconnected

From the interwoven web of relationships in my so-called

Real world. They are designed to serve me and everyone else.

Lessons are learned and practice sessions are provided.

We each progress in our own way and there is no time limit.

We live forever.

There is no choice if we choose well

Spirit tells me that I am a unique expression of Life.

If I am, I ask Him, then how can I live my life in such a way

As to express this uniqueness, within the limits of my

Potential, or within what I believe are the limits of my potential.

The answer is simple, He tells me, if you choose well.

Simply be yourself.

Now, If I only knew how to do that.

Pawns can make a Difference in the Game

Spirit tells me that I am, as I sometimes suspect that

I might be, and yet struggle against the very idea of

Being, no more than a pawn in the Game of Life.

Pawns can and do make a difference, He tells me, as if

That would cheer me up. Yes, He continues, pawns can be

Part of winning a game, but only if they are willing to serve

A skilled, master of the game.

Spirit is not without ego. The implication is, of course,

That I am the pawn while He is the skilled, master player.

The rules of the game are Universal Laws, but the Spirit

Of the game is Love. The rules are inflexible, in the same

Sense that four o’clock comes at the same each day,

Whether or not your day’s work is done.

The good news…

Wow! There’s good news? I try to sound sarcastic, but,

It’s wasted on Him.

The good news, without seeming to have noticed my

Interruption, is that the Game of Life is directed by Love,

And, Love allows for compassion.

That’s so good to know.

But, rules are rules.

Struggle may not help a rock

Spirit tells me that struggle can never help us to become

Anything that we have no potential to become.

But, a rock may never know that it has no potential to

Become a tree until it tries again and again,

Without success.

However, the rock may discover that it does have potential

To become what it now is, a rock.

People are not rocks.

What are they?

They, we are living forms of intelligent energy.

And rocks are not?

Perhaps they are, but people have potential.

Yes.

What does that mean?

More struggle might help you.

Karma Rules

Spirit tells me that so-called free will is often misunderstood.

Some people claim the right to do whatever they choose to,

Regardless of how their choices may negatively affect

The lives of others, or our natural environment.

They have obviously failed to read the fine print that

Holds them responsible for consequences.

All Universal Laws, He tells me, are interconnected –

A package deal, with no options or exceptions, and

Karma rules.
