Spirit tells me that awareness is an ever-deepening experience of
Understanding, with the capacity to expand forever.
The more we understand how each life form has the potential
To affect every other, the more clearly we will know, for
Understanding is knowing, that all life is much more than
Interconnected; it is interwoven.
We each are part of everything else.
Spirit tells me that we are here in physical form
To refine our essence, and our essence is potential.
Each mountain we climb, and each and every struggle
Is as climbing a mountain, prepares us to climb ever higher.
From the valleys to foothills and then to the highest peaks.
And, as we climb higher and higher, we serve as inspiration
To those who struggle to follow, not us, but the way
We follow our dream.
And, as high as we might climb, we seem to know that
Ahead of us there will always be heights beyond heights,
Where other climbers who, like us, are seekers of the limit.
Spirit tells me that creation, all creation, is an outcome of three potentials;
Thought, feeling, and energy – a cosmic trinity.
Nothing worthwhile, He tells me, is achieved or created without
Deep thought, passionate commitment, and energy, physical or
Otherwise.
Thought, feeling, and energy are blended together into the
Creative force of love. Love is, He seems to sigh, an often
Misunderstood emotion, when, in reality, it is as white light,
That can disperse itself into every possible hue or blend of
Colour.
Spirit tells me that I am not as I once was, but I have
Always had the potential to become as I now am.
There is no end, He adds; I have and I am potential
To become more, to do more, to serve Life more than
I can now possibly imagine.
And, so it is with everyone.
Spirit tells me that relationships
That never seem to change
In Quality, may still be of
Some value, without
Pretending any longer that
They only needed more time.
When they have reached
Their potential, time is
Not a factor.
I reluctantly agree with Spirit,
More or less, and yet,
To accept what never was but
Might have been…
What happens to all of the
Unfulfilled potential of
Our lives?
There is, Spirit assures me,
A quality accounting system
That carries potential
Over to future lifetimes.

Spirit tells me that,
As if I didn’t know,
We were not always
As we are, now, but
We must always have had
The potential to become
As we are now, and
If we had, and we did,
The unseen potential
To become as we are
Now, then,
What unseen potential
Do we now have that will
Manifest itself in our future?
Then Spirit asks me,
Is our past sending us
To our future, or
Is our future
Calling to us?
Spirit seems to be fixated on abuse. Why can’t He teach me something about almost anything else but abuse. I surely don’t need it. It’s almost abusive of him to focus on this subject, at this time in our relationship. It’s still too painful for me to deal with. He should know that.
Abuse, Spirit claims, as if I didn’t know, is soul-destructive to both the abused and the abuser.
I feel totally compassionate toward those I meet, who seem to be in intense emotional pain. It pains me to witness their agony. Perhaps time will ease the memory. Of course, they must first escape the situation wherein the abuse occurs. I seemed to need so very much time, but, I’m a slow learner, I guess.
Abuse (Spirit interrupts my thinking), continues, needs to be acknowledged as existing, at least potentially, in every human relationship (I would add, and in every human to spirit one). Spirit seems to ignore my cynic thought.
Each and everyone within a relationship, Spirit explains, is at least potentially both a victim and an abuser, or both.
Does that include our relationship? I pretend to innocently ask.
That depends.
On what?
Honesty.
