Do we only think we know what we are?

Spirit refuses to accept my complaint that I am what I am and
I need what I need.

No! He claims. I only think I am whatever and need whatever,
without thinking deeply.

So, if I thought deeply, if I could, then what would I
think I am and need?

You would not think. You would know that you are spirit
living a physical life, and you would be aware that it
is all an illusion, except for the awareness that you
may have developed from playing the Game of Life,
according to whatever rules your particular society has
designed for you.

If different societies play the Game of Life by different
rules, and we are all becoming, more or less, citizens of
a world community, then how can we possibly interact with
each other?

The Rules of Life of different cultures, societies,
communities, or even neighbourhoods do not necessarily
have to be the same.

That may work in separated traditions but when people
migrate from one set of generally accepted set of rules
to another, then surely they need to adapt or learn to
live within the two cultures, without rejecting their
past.

They are their past, or at least they are a product of
past experiences.

The answer?

Respect for past traditions while adapting, or
creating our own set of rules to live by. Whatever
choice we make, however we choose to live our life,
we do choose and accept, consciously or otherwise,
the consequences, if there are any, and there
always are.

Oneness is a core principle of Life

Spirit tells me that a new story must be told about our inner reality, an inner world of Spirit wherein all Life is eager to assist and share in the creation of our future, and to teach us how to care for each other, everyone, and everything we care for.

We are each citizens of this world, He tells me. We each blend our unique energies together into one. We are serving each other, in one way or another

Oneness is a core principle of Life.

Your story is my story

Spirit tells me that our personal stories must necessarily be incomplete and less than real.

“How can my life story be less than real?”

“Who experienced it?”

“I did.”

“And who recorded it?”

“I did.”

“How?”

“Through memories. How else?”

“Someone might have told you your story when you were too young to be aware of how true it was.”

“If so, that was then.”

“Your story can never be then. Life stories are never then and now, unless there are two or more versions of the same story, and there always are.”

“Then how can we know our own story?”

“It isn’t possible. We’re living interconnected life stories.”

“Then your story and mine may be the same story?”

“Yes, from different perspectives.”

More is Less and Less is More

Spirit tells me that He understands my fear
that I might lose my own identity and become
consumed into His truth instead of being free
to discover my own.

It would be foolish not to be afraid, He assures me,
but not to risk that possible outcome, if it was
possible, would not be wise for someone like me.

He seems to know that His higher awareness has or is                                                                                            an irresistible temptation to me. I seem to very much                                                                                           want and need to learn from Him all that He can teach                                                                                          me about life and how it might be lived in service to                                                                                       Life itself without serving myself less.

He tells me that, at least in this case, and possibly
in all cases, more is less and less is more, depending
upon our focus.

To even attempt to explain …

Spirit asks me to try to see Life through the eyes of a mystic.

How does a mystic see Life?

As a mystery to be deeply respected, cherished, and served.

How to serve Life? What is Life?

All that is.

Then, how is it possible to serve all that is?

By serving yourself in such a way that expresses, if only to yourself, your awareness of oneness to everyone and everything else.

How to explain that to anyone?

To even attempt to explain it is to deny the reality.

Those who understand …

Yes.

Life is like that

Spirit tells me that we each are as rays of the sun, but not separate from the sun in any real way other than the direction we may choose to face. The sun, He tells me, has power to pull its rays home.

Life, too, is like that. We each live an individual existence only in our own mind and, perhaps, in the minds of some others. But, no number of individual illusions alters the reality of the illusion.

There is only one story

Spirit tells me that memories are remembered stories that we personally experienced, on one way or another. We may not have physically experienced them but, somehow, they each have left a deep and lasting effect upon us.

We may have read some of them, listened to, watched, or dreamed some others. Some have made such deep sense to us or we have felt such a personal connection to them that we have recorded them in our memory, or, more factually, they have recorded themselves.

No one story stands alone. Each are a part of and embedded within even larger or different stories. If so, they are remembered as part of more stories than one. This is as an important, or less important document being copied and then stored in different file folders in a traditional filing cabinet, or on a computer

Then how can we know which stories are really our own?

Easy.

How?
They all are part of one and the same story, of life being lived.

Double Pitfall is not facing problems

Spirit’s daily advice, using the ancient I Ching style of thought to explain life, in which all situations are seen to develop out of and into other situations, in a more or less foreseeable pattern. Spirit seems to dismiss the trendy thought of living in the now. The now, He tells me, developed out of the past and will strongly impact on the future.

Today’s focus is on the concept of I Ching 29 – Double Pitfall. Problems cannot be faced, dealt with, or overcome until they are recognized, identified, and studied.

Double Pitfall suggests danger; possibly preventable danger, as a result of self-defeating thinking, avoidance, or lack of wisdom or courage to face and challenge difficulties before they develop into situations beyond our control.

How can this reading possibly relate to me?

It possibly relates to every one of us.

Ultimate Reality – Spirit’s I Ching 1 – The Creative

Spirit explains I Ching – 1 – The Creative.

Heaven over Heaven, the ultimate reality, or, as it has been described,

As above, so below.

Nothing creates itself alone. Nothing sustains itself, alone. And, nothing

Destroys itself, alone.

What about Life?

What about it?

Who or what creates, sustains, or destroys …

Life is self-creating.

But, you said ..

Life is not a who or what.

Then what?

Ultimate reality.

I Ching Wisdom – Respect the visions of the timeless past

Spirit explains I Ching 52 – Mountain.

Mountain follows Thunder and will be followed by Gradual Progress.

As the seasons of our life each follow the one that came before it,

So it is with each new generation of Seekers of the Way. We cannot

Be, see, or do as any other previous one.

We each see and understand as no-one else, if we dare to see from

Where we alone are, while respecting the visions of the elders,

Mentors, and teachers from the timeless past.

Wow! And the message for me?

Yes.
