The Big Bang story goes that the Universe was once one complete mass of whatever that suddenly got blasted into ten thousand peices and scattered into eternity, or thereabouts.

Could we each represent those scattered fragments of an original mind?

And, what if the rules of the game go that we have to put ourselves back together in a specific order?

Otherwise, we’ll have complex issues, and who wants them?

The secret ingredient is our comfort zone.

It tells us if we’ve fit our parts back together in the required order, and if we need to rearrange our emotions and thoughts, or rather our capacity to feel emotions and think thoughts, and the emotins and thoughts that we’ve chosen to feel and think at any particular time, place, or situation.

Why is it true?

Because we are one (more or less).

We are one of the same living beings that every other human being is, and because we are one we can learn from each other, and then perhaps even improve on what we have learned from another human being.

ANd then, perhaps, some other human being will challenge our supremacy.

First we are all only one of a mass of others within our separate cultures, then we begin to develop indivdiuality, or at least some of us do.

It’s contageious, this individuality building stuff.

And, in the process of each newly developing individual, there’s bound to seem to be chaos, but there is also incredible potential for improved living conditions, and personal satisfaction on a mass scale.

We are, each and all, one of a kind within a greater one.

It’s not about good or bad, or successful or not, but about how close our human character comes to becoming what we predicted it would become.

Can we, even now, consciously study our own ego personality and determine how satisfied we are with its evolutionary development?

Has it changed much since day one?

And, if so, what triggered the changed?

Children could even be taught to self-analyze, and to learn to know themselves, and to monitor their progress at social skills as time goes by.

But we get a lot of help from those around us.

The Middle Way is not half-way between two ways but a blend of the best of both of them.

War and peace must necessarily and at all times co-exist within each and every living relationship.

They are as polarities of each other, and as such play a dynamic pull-push game with each other.

Whenever there is peace there must necessarily be the potential for war, and whenever there is war there must necessarily be potential for peace.

Existence itself plays this game with non-existence

We, as humans, are necessarily subject to the rules of this game, even within our personal relationships.

Peace comes with the price of the potential of war.

If this is so, and it seems to be so, then a reasonably intelligent person might consider how to harmonize these interactive forces of polarity.

It can never be absolutely and eternally one or the other.

We have to know and respect the potential for the other, and never to be lured into thinking that either one can bring about a static condition.

They each are forces of energy, and energy moves, slowly or quickly, but it moves continuously and eternally.

Awareness and acceptance of the power of the other, and a desire to maintain harmony between them, between the less extreme potentialities of them, and not to expect either to last forever.

The Middle Way of co-exisitence is the way to protect ourselves from either extreme.

Neither one extreme nor the other can be trusted to be other than it is.

The so-called collective unconscious as a universal and timeless language?

Why hasn’t anyone come up with that idea?

Or have they, without telling me about it?

Perhaps it just makes too much sense for anyone to considere it as real?

In “2012”, Author Daniel Pinchbeck gives Jung credit for developing the theory or a collective unconscious, but I thought Freud had been their first, with the superconscious.

Whatever.

The collective unconscious is seen as the “repository of myth, symbol, and archetype that emanate from a source beyond the individual mind” and “the archetypes of the collective unconscious as phenomena which are not subject to our will.”

Pinchbeck quotes Jung as ascribing to the archtypes of the collective unconscious “a certain autonomy.”

Perhaps Jung did not consider that these universal archetypes might have been no more nor less than generally understood (within a given culture) thought forms used by our own higher minds (for those who believe we have such) which have access to this universal language, and use it in a dumbed-downway to communicate with our physical mind’s limited understanding.

My dreams are designed by whomever for me, alone, and for a purpose.

They would teach me something about how I might better live my so-called waking life.

I might be just too dense to benefit from them all.

Perhaps the time has come for the collective language to develop a more simple style for people like me.

Imagine Love as the Middle Way, a unique and individual path through a wide valley between the polarities of need and care, with each side necessary to the other.

We can’t give what we haven’t got, and if we have a lot, then we have a lot to give, if we will to.

It isn’t like money where some have much and yet seem to have a deep need for even more.

And, if Love is the Middle Way, then how wide is it?

Can the Way of Love become more wide or narrow for each of us, depending upon how far we reach into one side of the valley or the other?

Experience doesn’t require understanding, but understanding requires experience.

We can’t really understand anything that we haven’t personally experienced, or can we.

Reading is an experience, and so is witnessing whatever, or hearing someone sing or talk about whtever.

The problem arises with second-hand understanding.

Also, what if a real experience had been misunderstood?

Global warming seems to be a real experience, and yet, do we misunderstand the why of it, and the possible outcome?

Pain is an experience, and so is happiness.

We may all know friends who have suffered long-term physical pain.

How to understand the why of it, even if experts provide an explanation?

The explanation only refers to a cause, and not why that cause exists for some and not for some others.

And happiness – don’t we all know some who seem to experience so much of it, whil others live with such a need for it.

Our powers are gifts but they can be uses or abused.

A dream of an abused woman.

But, it could have been an abused man, or child, or group of children, women, or men.

Our inborn instinct of fight or flight is an awareness of power, or lack of power to control whatever situation presents itself.

We need to becom aware of our personal and collective powers to do good and/or harm, either to ourselves or to others.

So many of us on a spiritual path seem to understand this timeless wisdom teaching as meaning a physical teacher.

Deep thinkers see it more intuitively.

Thoughts attract thoughts, whether they slip into our minds or are slipped into them.

Einstein shared that when he stopped thinking, after thinking all he could about something, and just walked away and did something that he enjoyed doing, the answer would suddenly appear in his mind.

So it can be with all of us, more ordinary people.

Yoga sutras are threads of wisdom stitched together.

Yoga = union.

Sutra = thread.

And, as with sewing anything, or beginning anything, lessons in wisdom can only begin at the beginning, as in the childrens song, “Let’s start at the very beginning. It’s a very good place to start.”

Where is that soggy plane of beginning?

We write and rewrite our life story, as time goes by.

In early childhood, pre-teen …

Where do we write and rewrite our life story?

In our memory.

First in short-term memory, and then in long-term memory, as it fades into the past and our focus is on what is happening now, or what we think is happening now takes centre stage, and what happened last week, last year, … is replaced with focus on what is happening here and now.

A child would write a different life story than an old woman would.

Why?

And yet, how much of any of our life stories would speak of our possible future?

Children don’t consider what they’ll do as an elderly person.

It’s too far down the road.

And yet, some elderly people think of early childhood more than on their next life experience, whatever it might be.

It makes life more intersting this way, and allows us to develop awareness of our own weaknesses.

It’s so much easier to love someone who loves us too, and to the same depth, more or less.

And it makes us more easily controlled by some others who would exploit our need for their love.

And it sounds to reason that if we are exploited in this way, then the love wasn’t mutual, or at least not of mutual depth.

It was power over.
